Children's Outdoor Safety Program:
ASAR provides a free children's safety program called Hug-A-Tree. Hug-A-Tree is a
program that is set-up to teach children 5-12 years of age, the basic survival skills they will need if they ever get lost in the woods. This program also teaches children some of the things they can do to ensure they don't get lost.
Hug-A-Tree is presented to Elementary Schools and other children's groups. The average audience of this programme is close to 2000 a year. The RCMP has some more information about the programme on their website: Hug a Tree link http://www.rcmp.ca/ccaps/hug_e.htm Part of the presentation is a coloring book which is available for download.
