Arrowsmith Search & Rescue

now working with Project Lifesaver.

Project Lifsaver is a programme to track and rescue seniors and others with cognitive issues who tend to wander away from their homes.  The client is fitted with a wristwatch sized transmitter set up with its' own unique frequency.  If the person wanders away, their caregiver can notify the RCMP, who in turn call Arrowsmith SAR.  We then respond using a special tracking receiver, which picks up the signal that is constantly transmitted from the person's wristband.

The service will be available in late November.  Families and caregivers can contact D'Arcy Falkiner at 250-594-5488 for information on signing up their loved ones.

You can also contact Project Lifesaver at 1-877-580-5433, or visit them at their website, www.projectlifesaver.org

How to Donate

Why Donate?

ASAR is a 100% volunteer run organization that depends on donations from the residents and businesses of Ocreanside for funding. Only minimal funding is received from the Provincial Government and is restricted mostly to remuneration for costs involved in an actual search. These costs are: mileage, meals and replacement/repair of equipment lost or damaged during the search. Equipment used by ASAR, such as our SAR bus, SAR hall, and equipment vehicle were purchased with funds raised by ASAR members.

Arrowsmith Search & Rescue is a registered not for profit charity, so you will be issued a tax receipt for your contribution.
